Who We Are
George Rajotte began working for his father’s sandblasting and painting company in 1962. After 12 years as a painter in the family business, George decided to start his own company. The founding of Western Sandblasting Ltd. in 1974 was marked with a modest beginning. George took a second mortgage on his home, hired two painters and operated the fledgling industrial coatings company from a rented house trailer with no plumbing - a company that would continue to grow and soon establish itself as an innovative leader in the construction industry.
Many changes to Western occurred over the next 35 years as new industry advancements appeared, as markets and competition changed, and as the range of the company’s services expanded.
A commitment to responding quickly to our customers needs with cost effective solutions and the ability to forge partnerships in every industry sector were identified early as essential strategies in continuing the success and growth of our company.
The ability to respond to the needs of the market and provide the highest level of service without compromising the core values that fortify our company’s culture and foundation is a skill that has never been more important than it is presently. Today, recently re-branded as The WISL Group, we employ more than 125 personnel who staff 4 operating companies serving North America from Mexico to the Arctic: WISL – Western Industrial Services Inc., WCSI – Western Construction Services
Inc.
, NSI - Northstar Scaffold
Inc.,
and WWM - Western Waste Management Ltd. These services continue to be enhanced under a newly constructed 5,000 sq. ft. head office and 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse and production space complete with leading edge equipment located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The WISL Group of Companies is considered the best available service provider in each of the industries it is associated with and is now a recognized leader in each of the regions we serve.
